5Came out beautiful....and I can't cook!  May 04, 2008
By M. Wynne "MB"
I ordered this cake pan hoping that I, the woman who has blown up pyrex and has given my husband food poisoning(more than once), could make a birthday cake for my son's first birthday. If you can bake a cake from a box...you can use this pan.

5Super cute cake  Sep 23, 2010
By TysMom "TysMom"
This cake pan was easy to use and turns out a super cute cake. The booklet included gives ideas with instructions and pictures. I incorporated a couple of the different ideas and I think (as did party guests)that it turned out very good. I am an inexperienced cake maker so if I could do it really anyone should be able too. The cake was not very large so if you are having a big party like we did you may want to make more then one or do what I did and make another cake that goes along with your theme. I made an Elmo one and a small round one for the birthday boy to destroy.

1Disappointed  May 13, 2013
By Jennifer DiPietro
I bought this pan to make a smash cake for my son's birthday party. Before making his cake, I did a test run (which I was planning to do anyway since we were testing a low sugar cake recipe). I rinsed the pan in warm soapy water, but noticed I had a terrible chemical smell on my hands. I smelled the pan and the pan had the same smell. I proceeded to wash the pan twice more to remove the smell. I then proceeded to bake the cake. the pan was generously greased but the end product still stuck to the pan. I was weary so we went a different route with the cake that we made (making a round layer cake and then cutting it out into a goldfish). Afterwards, the pan was put into the dishwasher (since the product did state it was dishwasher safe). Well it came out of the dishwasher a mess, the aluminum was clearly damaged from the dishwasher.

5Perfect!  Aug 17, 2012
By SimHead82
I ordered this to use for my son's first birthday "smash" cake. I did one or two practice runs baking cakes in it with no problems. I used one packaged cake mix and while it wasn't full it was plenty big enough for my one year old. (He didn't even eat one bite.) The day of his party I found out I had ran out of cooking spray and so I buttered the pan up and the cake came out of the pan in two pieces, but I blame myself for not having cooking spray. However, I was able to easily cover my mistake with frosting. All in all it came out perfect! I can't wait to use it for my next baby or any family and friends that want a 1 cake!

2Not a non-stick pan  Aug 24, 2012
By Samantha
Make sure you grease the heck out of this pan because EVERYTHING sticks in it! Box cakes, homemade cakes, you name it. I'm glad I did a practice run for my kids birthday party because I only used non-stick cooking spray and the entire cake fell apart, had to be thrown out AND had to be scraped out of the pan with my finger nails. The pan says to use two boxes of cake mix. I wouldn't do THAT either if I were you. It results in the sides of the cake being burnt and the middle not being cooked enough! The pan itself is cute. Just wish it was a non-stick pan.
